Stunning Set of Balloon Back Chairs
This week we have just put up for sale a stunning antique set of six Victorian mahogany dining chairs with a balloon back and they are in superb condition. They have a moulded shaped back above a back support with a central beautiful floral carving which can be seen quite often on Victorian chairs but not as fine quality carving as this. The chairs stand on splayed back legs and beautifully turned reeded front legs and this design gives the stability needed for the chairs and they are still very stable today. Each of the antique chair has a serpentine shaped front and has been recently upholstered in neutral fabric with a matching braid trim so they will fit into any home. The chairs are a rich medium mahogany colour and we have just cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing to keep them as original as possible. This set of antique chairs are stunning pieces of antique furniture, are stable for every day use and are unique to look at.
